I live in the south. Until last week, we had temps in the mid 80’s, and two days near 90. Insects were buzzing everywhere outside, and when you opened the door, flies would come in — it’s gross; I hate them — then we had a week of near freezing weather — today back to 70, and they are all over the back deck — I have a large passion fruit vine, and the fruits are ripening now, and I have a large pot of herbs — we literally hung them up attached to the gutter above the large kitchen double windows, and everywhere inside even if I only saw, and swatted, one fly. We have young kittens (covid closed down the vet’s office and their moms did not get spayed on April 12th as scheduled; we thought the laundry room door was shut tight, opened the door to get an AMAZON delivery, and away they both flew, like the down of a thistle (it’s Christmastime). Anyway, without using any type of aerosol spray, causing damage to humans and critters, in 48 hours our house was completely devoid of flies and flying insects, and the ones we put on the back deck were filled. Just FYI, we have a small croc pot, which I made a potpourri, and I think that’s what drew them to the kitchen. My poor son is the fly strip hanger-upper — we’ve also caught mosquitos and other flying critters. Our area has the Asian Tiger Mosquitoes, and there were several on there. I’m so thankful to Amazon and prime, which is worth so much more than what we pay each month — free 2-day shipping, plus prime video — I’m housebound due to chronic health issues, if I get covid, I’m a goner. We’ve ordered so much ( lots of kitten food and litter — ugh), and have had issues with only two deliveries, which the Amazon rep resolved immediately. I’m definitely going to order again, because when the weather heats up again (assuming we have any cold weather), we’ll have the same issues.
