I have owned another brand of electronics for many years but switched to the Helix 7 MDI G4 after my last unit kept losing bottom lock and the down imaging never gave a reliable picture. This unit has good resolution, easy menus and operation, bright screen, good base map and overall quality look. Drawbacks versus my previous unit: Can’t change data overlays in any way (Previous unit let you change content, size and location of overlays). Data boxes that you CAN change content are too big and size can’t be changed so they cover too much of the screen. Unit should include fuse holder and fuse for installation. I have installed unit, but haven’t used it on the water yet, but expect good things after going through simulated operation and using the actual GPS operation.
