I ran 00 gauge copper cable in and out of this fuse for my car (overkill, I know). It didn’t cause any problems for a while, but at some point the cable on one side became loose. I can’t say with any confidence why, but my guess is that I just didn’t tighten the clamping screw enough. The whole thing is mounted in a clear plastic housing, so you’ll have to get creative to avoid breaking the plastic. Anyway, it must have been arcing for a while, because by the time I noticed it (because my car wouldn’t start) the brass block that the loose cable was in was MELTED. I should emphasize that this happened due to electrical arcing, which would not cause the fuse to blow. In other words, this product did NOT FAIL to do its job. So the moral of the story is to make sure you really crank down the screws that clamp your cables into the fuse terminals.
